Sweetwater County Democrats Meeting
Thursday, January 16th, 2020

Presiding officers present:

State Party Chair: Joe Barbuto
The meeting was called to order at 7:01. Dana Furgason led the pledge.
Mike Martin motioned to approve the Agenda. Dana Furgason seconded. Unanimous approval; motion carried.
Correspondence: Lyndsey Love checked the P.O Box and Mike Martin sent in 3 $100 checks.
Secretary’s Report: Mark Lee motioned to approve. Hollis Meader seconded. Unanimous approval; motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: The report included both December’s and January’s monies. The Smart Union Party brought in $2,584.34. The expenses: $3700.26. The income: $6232.44. Balance forward: $4296.93. Current balance: $6829.11. Joe Barbuto motioned to approve. Sarah Wessel seconded. Unanimous approval; motion carried.
Old Business:
Thank you to Stan Blake and Smart Union for the successful Christmas Party.
New Business:
Reminder: Women’s March in downtown Rock Springs on January 18th at 10 am. NTR weekend of the 21st of February; Laramie Dems reception thanking legislators 21st, Candidate Trainings/Caucuses and banquet 22nd, SCC meeting the 23rd.
Mark Lee presented RCV and County Caucus information. Joe Barbuto mentioned that this will be able to increase participation.
Meghan presented a Path Forward to 2020, where monthly goals were established. Leighton Wessel mentioned that getting in touch with our local newspapers.
News Roundup:
Grace Furgason announced that there are students interested in building a Democratic group at WWCC and she is working to make it a reality.
Michele Irwin invited everyone to participate in the PSC meeting on January 29th or write letters that are due April 15th.
Joe Barbuto stated that the WDP has resources for all those who wish to run for any office in the State of Wyoming.
50/50 Raffle
Kadin Corriera and Rhonda Coleman won tickets to NTR donated by Cathy Denman and Mike Masterson. The raffle brought in $141.00
Mark Lee motioned to adjourn and was seconded by Hollis Meader. Unanimous approval; motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:04 pm.
